How do I Choose a Style?

  • MLA (Modern Language Association) style is used by the Humanities, including Literature, Language, History, Philosophy, Performing and Visual Arts, Religion, Law and Politics. Emphasis is given to authorship.

  • APA (American Psychological Association) style is used by Education, Psychology, and the Sciences. Emphasis is given to the date of the work.

  • Chicago Manual of Style (Turabian) is sometimes used by Business/Economics, History, and the Fine Arts. Emphasis is on source origin. Footnotes and endnotes are used to demonstrate on the page where information originated.

Always check with your teacher to verify the style you should choose. NoodleTools can be used for any style.
